At least my back is warm and the snow is crunchy

Walking around in 32 and below weather with the wind and snow is utterly exhausting. Each time I get home from a day trip anywhere I’m completely spent. I’m starting to think spring is never going to come. It has been snowing in Mlada Boleslav for a week straight. The wind chill is enough to make my teeth hurt.
Holly and I have utterly bad luck when it comes to taking a day trip anywhere and riding the bus. Today we had plans to meet a friend in Liberets. However, the clock in the kitchen is slow (Holly didn’t know that), and we literally walked up to the bus station and saw our bus pulling away. There wasn’t another bus to Liberets for hours. So, plan B, go to Jicin (we tried to go last week, but also missed the bus). The nice man at the window who spoke English said there was a bus at 11:20…the time was 11:19. We ran outside as the bus pulled away. We went home, defeated and tried to come up with plan C. We have a 3 day weekend, so we couldn't just stay in Mlada Boleslav, we had to get out, especially since we were all bundled up and ready to brave the horrible weather. Finally we decided to go to Prague for the day. Since it was Friday we’d be able to go to some stores that are closed on the weekends.
We were all bundled up leaving our flat, our backs were warm thanks to the amazing Japanese “kairo” these hot patches you stick to your body. We also had “kairo” to keep our hands warm. The snow was fresh and made that nice “crunchy” sound under our feet. That was about the only positive thing we could come up with, with all our bad luck. We got to the bus station and YES! There was a bus to Prague. The weather in Prague was warmer and not snowy. (warmer being like 32-33). We found a nice bookstore with lots of foreign books at good prices. We also found a bakery/café that Holly had been to ages ago but couldn't find again. I was craving gyros (Prague=gyros in my head), so we went out in search of a shop. We’d been trying unsuccessfully to find a gyros shop that Holly had been to a few months ago. We finally gave up and were in search of any gyros shop. When we finally found one, Holly was shocked to realize that THIS was the shop! Hahah, here it was, on a big street in plain slight. The gyros were good, but the restaurant was cooler. The second floor had a nice seating area with big windows that looked out on to the main street.
