Monterey, and especially the area I live in are infamous for blackouts. So, when a big storm came, I knew we'd lose power, and sure enough, at 2pm it went out, and didn't come back on till 7am the next day.
At first I was enjoying it, but then I realized that no power=no internet=no doing school work. I never realized how much I rely on the internet for my school work until that day.
The other thing was, neither my roommate nor I had a flashlight, and we each only had one candle. (I've since stocked up on both!) However, we ended up having quite a good time in the dark.
It's actually pitch black! We had yummy pasta
