On Friday a group of students took Laura & I by motorbike to 2 of the famous King’s tombs in Hue. First we went to Lang Kai Dinh, then to Lang Minh Mang. Lang Kai Dinh was beautiful, the tomb set on a hill had a great view. This king was disliked by many, and accused of practically selling Vietnam to France. His tomb had a large French influence. Lang Minh Mang was very different, it was on a large, flat piece of land with 2 small lakes and lots of greenery. His body is not actually buried under his tomb. No one knows where he is buried. By the time we got to the 2nd tomb, it was about 11am, and hotter than you know what. We sat and talked a bit, trying to survive the heat. Now I really get why Vietnamese only do things from 7-11am or 2-3pm on, it was just too hot!
