Orphanage

On Saturday we went to an orphanage out in the country. Poor teens from villages on the outskirts of Hue spent 1 week in training, learning about the environment and cleanliness/sanitation. With peer-to-peer education these teens will go back to their villages and teach community members what they learned. Saturday was their practice day at the orphanage.

This orphanage houses about 40 kids, and it funded by a Swiss woman. The building and grounds were great, with tons of fruit trees and vegetable patches. The children were so adorable, and very different from the city kids at Ai’s shelter. The children also practice Buddhism, so they were very calm. Next week Ai and I are planning to go back and play with the kids.
