From Chitakale we took a mini-bus to Thyolo to see Brittni's friend Garrett. The drive there, through tea-estates was beautiful! We arrived just before dark, to Garrett and Katie making passion fruit mojitos from scratch. It was perfect!
In the morning we made breakfast and headed out to walk down the escarpment. The Great African Rift Valley Escarpment runs down through the country. Garrett found a way to walk through villages and down the escarpment to the region near Brittni's site.
As we walked, it looked as though we'd fall off the mountain up ahead. The view was incredible, and I'm sure the pictures won't do it justice. We saw some houses on the edge of the mountain with an amazing view- million dollar homes!
Once we got to the bottom we walked through a village and through a river, with people washing their clothes.
We then rode in another awful truck to the main road. It was long, bumpy, and packed with people. More questions and assumptions by the passengers. As well as a long religious lecture to Brittni about her drinking a beer. I'll elaborate later on horrible transport.
