Tokyo Day 5 Shibuya 02.10.14

We woke up really early to catch the airport express train. Since the station was so close to our hotel we decided to walk. Do you know how hard it is to drag suitcases through several inches of snow?!
When we got to the airport there was a very long line to check in and we knew we wouldn't end up at the front in time. The Japanese are usually so organized, but this was an exception. Our flight was an hour late and we were almost the last to get on. I was surprised that the airlines weren't prepared, seeing as they do this every year.

When we got to Tokyo we took the train to Tokyo Disneyland. I forgot that once you get to Tokyo station it's at least 1/4 of a mile walk to the Keiyo Line to get to Maihama Station.  We were early to check in so we went over to the hotel at Disney Sea. We got there just in time to see the afternoon water show. Our hotel room was huge and had a beautiful bathroom- such a change from our tiny Sapporo hotel.

In the evening we went to Shibuya. Shibuya crossing, right outside of the station is the busiest crossing in Tokyo. There is a Starbucks that has seating on the second floor with a perfect view of the street crossing. The famous Japanese dog, Hachiko also has a statue outside of the station- the exit is actually called the Hachiko exit. It's a very common and easy meeting point, so the area is always crowded.
